LGBTQ+ :NOT A SHAME
Everyone once in their life goes through a phase where they need a shoulder to lean on. Yes, everyone needs the love of their life that makes them feel so special and loved that they forget all of their worries at the gaze of that one person. And by a person, it strictly means just a human in whom you can find your better half, whose level of energy resonates with you, and someone who may be your replica or completely different but still loves you for the way you are. But alas, some people in our society have set some completely baseless standards. We are no one to decide who the other person should love. It's an individual decision. Love is as simple as it is complex. Love goes beyond the barriers of language, race, religion, and most importantly gender. It is time the society understands that everyone deserves a wonderful lover who showers them with love.
Mistreating bisexuals, trans, gay, or lesbians is oppression. It is taking away their right to life and freedom of expression. They are just like the rest of us and deserve to be treated with respect. Belonging to the community of LGBTQ+ is no physical illness or a disorder that can be cured. It is not a 'phase' or a 'choice'. It is an 'IDENTITY'. An identity that should be allowed to be worn with pride. It is neither abnormal nor sin. They don't pose any harm to society. They have and continue to make our country proud and actively contribute to our development. The stigma that a marriage is only between a woman and a man deserves to be shattered. What one thinks of them is merely their personal opinion, an opinion which need not be imposed on them for different people view things differently. We can still live in harmony with all our differences.
The youth of India is questioning. It is breaking free of the shackles that once held us back. The verdicts by the Supreme Court on this prove to be a revolution, a fresh breeze of air. This is small but a major step towards a new India. Towards a free India. It is a long journey of acceptance, action, and implementation. All they need is our support, co-operation, and love.
