Human Trafficking is the illegal trade of human beings, mainly for the purposes of commercial sexual exploitation and forced labor. In short, it's modern-day slavery. Human Trafficking is not a new scenario that somebody hasn't heard of. It's been existing for years now. According to estimates, human trafficking in India may affect between 20 and 65 million people. Women and girls are trafficked within the country for the purposes of commercial sexual exploitation and forced marriage, especially in those areas where the sex ratio is highly skewed in favor of men.

The prime matter of thought is that it isn't the fact that only girls or women are trafficked, it is faced by men and little boys too. But the major price is being paid by females and nobody can deny that. For which India is even labeled as the world's most dangerous country for women. Major sexual exploitation occurs for the purpose of massage experts, escort agencies, circus shows, forced labor among servants, beggars, slavery, removal of organs, etc.

The root causes of trafficking are poverty, social or cultural practices, and migration. People belonging to economically disadvantaged categories of SC, ST, OBC are more susceptible to fall under such malpractices. The trafficking gets pushed by unfaithful implementation of laws and social media being used as a new medium for the same. Some people sometimes get involved in this vicious web due to a lack of awareness and illiteracy. Victims fall under these miserable traps and keep dreading in this loop for years.

Justice is difficult to be accomplished unless these cases are registered, which doesn't happen often in India. Many NGOs are now highlighting and taking a stand on the issue. People entangled need to be set free from these cruel clutches. People vulnerable cannot be left suffering from psychological, mental, and emotional trauma from this infinity loop. So, the next time you doubt someone being exploited, don't dare to close your eyes and instead fight for them and fight for justice.
